That is why every district may have their own booths in representation of their one town one product. Not only that, artists, musicians, bands, comedians are invited to perform during the night and it cannot be denied that these people gives life to the celebration aside from the growing numbers of people supporting this feast.

Kannawidan is a variant of the Ilocano word "tawid" meaning heritage or inheritance. Kannawidan has its beginnings in 1992 when Guia Monroy Valenciano, then vice-president of PCI Bank, began sounding out to friends about establishing a museum. Her son Al, an artist, and the late Perlita Alviar-Foz, who once served as a curator of the Ayala Museumin Vigan, encouraged her. The idea caught on fast. Among the instant converts were: Ogie Balmaceda Alviar and Alice Raval Ventura, the wife of then city mayor Cesar Ventura. Together with Guia and Al, they called on Francis Ablan, then Caltex Phils. President.
With the power of hands, empowered by the creativity of minds, indeed, Kannawidan Festival is the most awaited celebration of our province.
